…and it has been fun. I was supposed to take my mother to the hospital to a clinic but, happily in Wales, a few inches of snow brings everything to a halt. Actually it has been quite a few inches. It’s my third winter out here in the hills and this is the deepest I’ve seen snow. My footprints from my early stroll down the lane had vanished in a couple of hours.

It is good to have no choice but to rest. I’ve had a good day, mostly in my new pyjamas. I did venture out for a while more because I thought I ought to than because I wanted to. It suddenly occurred to me that I didn’t have to be walking and so plodded home and built a snowman instead. Much better.

The weather wasn’t right for a raspberry fool and a cake seemed too much work, so I used my raspberries to make muffins. Good move.
