feeling like treacle…

Tin of Treacle…today.

When I feel reasonably well I have the odd treacle hour. I feel like someone has buried my brain inside a tin of treacle, I’m sluggish and groggy and find it hard to focus. Driving isn’t a good idea and reading isn’t easy. I’ve little choice but to sit until it passes. Fresh air helps, so sitting outside on the bench is good. Less good is that I crave sweet things to eat and want to drink tea and coffee.

A year or two ago most of my days were like these treacle hours. Over the last few days I’m suffering more. Today has been pretty much a treacle day. I hope it passes.

I did get out to the studio briefly. I’ve decided instead of trying to get it all organised I’m just going to get things roughly where I want them and get my sofa bed out there. I’ll at least have somewhere else to go and sit and then can slowly sort through things and get them in a better shape.

Michael, good idea about getting a sofa in the studio. Interesting how you say you too get cravings for sweet things. It’s same for me too. Body or brain all of a sudden seems to scream out for sugar. It’s intense - almost like a diabetic craving a drink. I think some sort of relapse occurs not long afterwards. Since you’ve mentioned it, I’m going to watch out for it and pay attention to what happens after I’ve had the sugar intake. So I can compare what happens when I don’t give in to it - which I have not yet tried because the craving is so intense - like the brain shouting out for glucose/energy to keep functioning.

Umm, treacle is good, but I prefer golden syrup for that quick fix sugar rush, or even Caramac bars - umm there my favourite.

If you move a sofa bed in you’ll have two houses! You’ll also need a little gas hob or microwave – then a fridge and maybe a Copenhagen III…

Decided to get some custom mounts made up for the pics, as Oxfam frames just didn’t cut the mustard :-)

treacle! that’s it exactly! trying to explain to a dr why i can’t function when I am this tired is hard, but that is a great description.

i’m an artist and i suspect i have CFS. it’s driving me crazy, literally.
