new toy #2

Drawing of pencil sharpnerthis isn’t actually all that new. N bought it for me when I first decided to reorganise my studio as a more restful place back in January. I decided to put it away until I’d actually managed to get things sorted. Finally it’s time to get it out and screw it on to my drawing table. It reminds me of queuing up at the teachers desk in primary school to sharpen my pencil - always a thrill (and an excuse to stop work on some no doubt VERY difficult sum). It’s amazing how many pencil leads would snap in those early days of mathematics. I was a great procrastinator even then.

The fact that it’s taken six months to finally finish the studio shows I still have tendencies in the direction of procrastination, but it is pretty much finished and I do like it. I now have a large bed covered in cushions to snooze on, my drawing table and a large expansive work top with cupboards underneath for working, thinking, playing and storing.

It’s the first time since the place was built that I actually want to be out here. The set up is far more in tune with how I am just now. If I do find I have the energy to embark on large paintings again the bed and the drawing table can fold away and I’ll have plenty of space. For the time-being though it’s drawing and snoozing (and procrastinating) for me…

a studio with a bed in it. that is what I want. and a lock to keep everyone (i.e. children and mothers-in-law) out.
I use a big sharp knife for my pencils, it looks more threatening when people disturb me :D keep on keeping on…

Ya know…at first I thought this was an old camera. I thunk about it for a while and wondered why you would screw one to your work table. Heh. Then again I must be in one of *my* CFS brain mange phases. Anyway, Hi.
