out and about

July 9th, 2004

Drawing of tearoom signI do think my energy must be better at the moment. I’ve been out and about a couple of times this week. On Wednesday I had an abortive attempt to visit Powys Castle (it’s closed on a Wednesday apparently) with my mother and N. We ended up in Llanidloes - a small town not so far from here where, in another lifetime, I spent a couple of weeks on teaching practice. There’s a great secondhand bookshop where I stocked up on summer reading.

Today I drove to the even closer, Devil’s Bridge. It is indeed an evil place. Someone in a small booth makes you pay £2.50 for the pleasure of a walk to see the World Famous Falls. Spectacular, but the steepness of the walk meant I had so much sweat in my eyes that I couldn’t fully appreciate them. Evil enough. But to make matters worse the exit is right by a tearoom that absolutely insists you call in for scones, jam and clotted cream. I’m so weak willed (and rather stiff now)…

    Hi,
don’t know if I’ve posted this correctly or if you’ll see it, but I just wanted to share something with you Michael and anyone else who’s interested.

Have you heard about the new breakthrough in the ME/CFS field? I suffered with it for 12 years and am now making progress in recovery. Other people I know are improving and almost recovered.

It turned out they had a bacterium, undetected in U.K. blood tests. Everyone I know including myself was EXTREMELY sceptical (don’t know if I’ve spelt that right) when told about it, but we all sent our blood off for testing and it came back positive and the drugs used to treat the disease had a positive effect on us. Anyway if anyones interested then just e-mail me on Annalisa321@aol.com and I’ll tell you more. Please note I am not selling anything and no one profits by this info. I’m just a person who was sick for many years with M.E. who now has a hope of recovery. Bye.
