pen search…
September 21st, 2004I’ve written about my ongoing search for the perfect pen over at Moleskinerie.

Sadly since writing I’ve found that the pen I had high hopes for really doesn’t come up to scratch. Nice feel but not a strong enough nib for the way I draw. Ho hum, I’ll need to keep searching…

Try a Pilot v-2000; they’re my favourite. Nice to see you yesterday, by the way.

I’ll load up the camels and carry a machete just in case the going gets tough on the quest (and a tartan Thermos flask too of course)

I’ve been sketching with Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens recently. They seems like they might work for you, only they are not refillable. Dick Blick, however, has them so inexpensively that it’s okay. The “Fine” is not so fine — maybe a very very little broader than a 0.7 Pilot G2. The finest point is great for Moleskine sketching. I have not had the chance to try anything broader. Both the ink and the nips are better than those Pigma Micron that Sakura makes. The Pitt ink is actually black:)

Greetings from the west coast of Canada! I too have that mystery disease with no decent name (3 years), but more importantly, I am also on a quest for a decent (writing) pen. At present I have settled for the Pilot G2, but will drop it like a hot potato if I find something better. I guess it’s true what they say about women being fickle… Cheers!

hi Michael
Thought y were in trouble with fountain pen nibs? Problems og course with ink flow ……..
The secret is to buy cheap ones and then improving it with diamond paste polishing…it makes a realllllll BIG difference……………..
hugs
