pen update…

Drawing of my old bag

Richard Bell over at Wild West Yorkshire wrote this excellent post about his new bag and the pens and other materials he carries in it. He seems very happy with his Rotring Art Pen and has made me want to dig mine out and give it another try. I was filling it with Rotring Drawing ink which seems waterproof so maybe it was being clogged up by that. I’ll try proper Art Pen cartridges and save it for when I know I’m not going to want to add anything wet to the drawing. Of all the pens I’ve played with to date nothing has matched the lovely Rotring Rapidoliners. I’ve found four on eBay and have stocked up on a few refills so perhaps they’ll keep me going until something comparable appears.

Since my piece on Molekinerie I’ve had lots of advice and suggestion for pens to try. Today, unable to walk past the wonderland that is the town’s art shop, I found a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen which someone recommended and a Zig Artist Sketching pen (which I’ve not heard of before). I’m off to try them out…

I like using a Pentel P205 retractable pencil. It’s funny how you get attached to the feel of a cetain implement isn’t it.

I’ve also had the same cold as you this weekend. Started as a sore throat moved to the chest and then explode through the sinuses - YUK!!!
