i’ve been working…
October 27th, 2004
…on a publicity postcard for my new project The Beany. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m trying too hard to construct a work routine for myself. I wonder why I can’t just let things be the shape they are in. I feel I should be out in my studio - at my desk or drawing table - working. I’ve kept trying to get out there recently. Maybe it’s (still) being under the weather that’s stopped me, or maybe I just haven’t really wanted to. The reality today was that I’ve got most of my work done sitting in bed or at the kitchen table (with coffee cup by my side), only really popping out to the studio to pick up print-outs. There’s nothing wrong with working like this of course - it’s just that it doesn’t feel like working. Maybe that’s a good thing…?
The Beany, by the way, is to be a sort of blog-in-print. It should be published at least three times a year (more if energy allows) and the first issue should be out in time for Christmas. Anyone interested can pre-order a copy here . Also, wealthy souls out there that would like to support this fledgling venture can do so by ordering a lifetime subscription - there are ten available.
If you like the look of the postcard and feel able to distribute some to friends etc to help publicise The Beany (and help me drum up a few more orders) then please drop me an email (michael at michaelnobbs dot com) and let me know how many you could pass on along with your address.

hello M I’ve plugged your beanie on my site but didn’t do a proper track back thingy.
My friend was knitting a Beanie at the stitch & bitch last night. It looked simple enough even for me!

I live in the U.S. — am I right that Paypal will convert the money amount for me if I order The Beany from your site?

Hello Nancy
I have emailed you but thought I’d answer your question here too in case anyone else has the same question.
Yes, PayPal does convert the amount into your own currency.
Best wishes
Michael

I think it’s a great idea… I look forward to seeing how it goes ….I’ll be ordering it when I’m completely sober-in-charge-of my credit card!, not right now
Here in Portugal blogs into books has been a bit of a big thing, so I’m trying to think about doing something similar. best of luck with it.
