as part of my attempt..

…at a routine, I’ve been heading to the town library once a week. I used to go a lot once upon a time, weekly excursions over the surrey hampshire border to the huge library in Farborough. Going there was almost as good as going to a bookshop. These days, as I try and wean myself off my Amazon habit, I’m resurrecting the habit. The town library here even offers an internet search and reservation service - not quite an Amazon wishlist but almost. Now if they offered coffee I’d be in heaven…

I loooove libraries but tend to get lots of fines. I’m going to resurect the habit with the winter coming on. Hope you are enjoying the borders michael.

Hey, Michael, you may have hit on an idea there - Libraries with their very own Star Bucks! Not sure if that’s really a good idea as there is way to many SB in the world already, but a nice cup of coffee while reading would be cool.
I was up your neck of the woods a few weeks back, the week before the August bank-holiday. We were camping near Snowdon when that really bad weather hit (tuesday nighth), it destroyed a lot of tents on the camp-site, all very exciting! I love that part of Wales, what’s your thoughts on buying in the area? Is it easy to do? Anyway, I digress as usual… speak soon…

I love libraries as well but I guess I’m old fashioned. I think they should be quiet places that you can go into and escape from the outside world for a while and read or browse.
Unfortunately they built an ice-skating rink next to my town centre library and now your ears get assaulted by the thump-thump of “dance” music. Bah!

A wonderful alternative. At least i presume it is. Here in the States we unfortunately cannot afford the gas to get to the library. Blast.

I like this drawing! The way the center is colored and the sides left as outlines.
And our libraries (both the public one and the college one where I work) DO offer coffee and tea. There’s a coffee maker right by an area of chairs.
Saves money cuz we can’t buy these books

Oh that’s beautiful! You are inspiring me to sketch more. Sadly I am struggling with walking pneumonia, which has allowed me to catch up on reading. I recommend Bangkok 8 by John Burdett.
We have a lovely library system here in San Francisco and the main one even has coffee and self-checkout.
Glad to see you are out and about, cheapgirl.

Lovely drawing of a lovely building…I always admire wonderfully executed architectural drawings! Even better that it’s a library..I’m overdue for a trip there myself! Hope you fall back into the habit easily..it’ll do you wonders!

I really like this picture too. I prefer drawing wildlife and landscape, but this one might make me think differently. And you’ve reminded me that my library books are due back on Wednesday, thanks!
