some good things…
October 14th, 2005
1. Richard Bell’s new book, Rough Patch arrived in my postbox earlier on this week. Keep an eye on The Drawing Club site for a full review very soon. In the meantime you can check out what Danny Gregory has to say and order your own copy from Richard’s site.
Lovely.
I can understand why artists often work in series, coming back to the same motif again and again…I feel that when you see one detail as it really is that it’s then that you get some insight into the bigger picture.
2. Nibbling away at a box of chocolates in the studio. The plan was to make them last all week. I didn’t.
3. Planning on going out to drink a long, cool pint of Guinness sometime very soon.
4. Having a day out shopping in Swansea and buying myself a copy of Watercolor for the Artistically Undiscovered, which includes a set of six watercolours and a brush. I’m off to play with them.

Not sure about the book, but the chocolates, the Guiness, and a trip to Borders books in Swansea, now that sounds good to me!

That is actually the book I taught myself to use watercolours with many, many, many years ago. I can’t believe it’s still in print!
