i’m still having cream…

E45 Pump Action…with just about everything at the moment.  Not the yummy, fatty, smooth dairy variety (or even the slightly less yummy vegan fare I used to eat), but rather one of a huge selection of over-the-counter non-edible emulsions I’ve collected to ease the flakey mess on my hands.  There’s the easy to use pump action version that sits by the bath to use instead of soap when I wash my hands or take a bath, the big tub by my bed that is pasted on every night before I go to sleep, the mini tube I carry around in my bag with my pens, and the tube of calendula in its attractive green packaging.

I’m a bit fed up with constantly moisturising myself, though I do think it’s paying off.  I’m hoping before long I’ll be able to indulge in a hot deep bubble bath again, instead of washing myself with the nasty perfumeless  cream from its pump action dispenser. I miss the bubbles. I suspect one or two friends miss the fact I’m not able to use deodorants at the moment…

Have you ever tried anything with oatmeal in it? I once caught mites from my dog (long story) and I used this stuff called Aveeno Anti-Itch cream. It was very soothing and it helped a lot.

Hey Mikey, I’ve been wondering when you were going to surface. Might be able to help re: deodourant. Have you heard of / tried Pit Rock? You can get it from Boots, and also from some Tescos, it comes in stick form in a clear push-up tube, like a regular stick deodourant, but it is a crystal / rock. Lasts forever, works a treat, just rub it on damp armpits after a shower or bath, bob’s your uncle! Youcan also buy it from places like health stores and ‘hippy trippy’shops in it’s natural rock crystal form, a lump about the size of a very small satsuma. You sound like it would work well on you, and you could have great fun drawing the packaging - looks cool!

Hope you find some, try it and feel the benefit - you’ll be smell in sweet as!

It might be worth looking at the ecologist web site here

    http://www.theecologist.org/home.asp

They do features on what different toiletries contain and recommend natural alternatives. They post back articles and you can do searches, subscribing is free of charge.

    Hope this helps.

i have a horrible skin condition
stuff from www purple emu dot com has helped put it in
remission, though i must continue to use it off and on.

i am considering at the moment a product people have raved about over here called “skin zinc”…they have a web site…maybe these or similar products are available in the uk
    http://www.skinzincrelief.com/

i have nothing what so ever to do with these companies…i do not work for them, get paid by them…and i’m not promoting them…just sharing with you that i’ve had help from one and am seriously considering the other….and thought you might want to look at them and their claims.

I have blobs of flaky horribleness that I get when stressed and overall fairly dry, easily irritated skin.

I started taking it for other reasons but Groovy Oil had quite a marked calming effect

You can get it in Boots and Sainsburys stock it.

i have struggled with excema on and off since i was born…. so i hear your pain! i’ve done tons of research and tried everything. finally my doctor suggested good ol’ vaseline (i used the lotion kind during the day, the oily kind with gloves at night). omega 3 capsules are great too; i take approx 4 daily. my skin is fine now, but i find that when i’m stressed or when i eat anything really processed (especially fried foods, sugary stuff or dairy), it flares up a bit……… hope that helps. good luck!
