a week of breakfasts

Blue Creek Breakfast

I’ve been feeling very ornery (what a great word, and not one we seem to use much here in Wales). To make myself feel better I’ve spent the last week defying the orders of the acupuncturist I’ve been seeing recently and eating what I damn well like. Mostly this has meant I’ve been eating cooked breakfast in a variety of cafes around town. With every delicious mouthful I’ve been swallowing the guilt about eating “bad” food.

Of course now I feel fat and (nearly) forty, so I’ve ordered Body for Life from Amazon and have vowed to never eat fat again…

hey michael whenever we are told to ‘only’ eat this or ‘never’ eat that we rebell. Its quite natural. Allow yourself to eat what you want and your body will crave what it needs eventually.

I always imagined men didn’t suffer that badly from food guilt, but I was clearly wrong! Hey, you’ll probably find your accupuncturist sneaks out for a secret cooked breakfast every morning before he reports to the consulting room.

Many thanks for adding me to the EDM Superblog, Michael.

Good on you, Michael. The only real expert on your body is you, so listen to the ‘experts’ and then do what you think is right for you. Life should have some moments of joy to make up for all of the yucky ones.

Hey, I just stumbled upon your site and I like it all a lot. I related to this entry as I’ve been living with ME for a couple years now and I’ve been on SO MANY DIETS. Some were helpful like the candida diet (which I’m still basically on) but most of them only seemed to make me more miserable, or have me preparing some new sort of seaweed instead of resting like my body really wanted. And then I feel guilty when I give up, even though they don’t seem to be helping at all, because they are SUPPOSED to help and I do want to get well, don’t I? Anyways, enjoy whatever food you eat and I wish you well.
