All change

October 1st, 2008

While the exhibition is on I’m moving all my stuff from my studio in The School of Art back to my studio at home. It feels like a major upheaval, but a good one I think. I just have so much stuff, and my studio (shed) here is still full of un-unpacked boxes from my mother’s house. The solution? A new shed to act as a large cupboard in the garden. It’s plastic and (hopefully) easily assembled. Right now it’s sitting in pieces in the garden waiting for the rain to let up a little so I can get it together.

I have just finished putting together an Ikea bookshelf for Alan’s new room at the nursing home. With all that experience and a flush of satisfaction, maybe I should pop over for a couple of days to help with the shed :-)

Please do. I’ll need all the help I can get; the shed was an ex-display model and has no instructions. How hard can it be..?

More similarities ;0) I have a big shed which I call my ’studio’ when I’m feeling creative or grand. In actual fact a small portion of it is devoted to my art and the rest contains stuff for boot sales (which came form my Mum’s) and stuff in boxes which came from my Mum’s. Surprise ! We have also built a smaller shed next to mine that is for my son but gradually HIS stuff for boot sales and the like are encroaching on his shed space.

With all this shed experiece I’d pop over too if it wasn’t so far. Many hands make light work.
