Thinking about a routine

I was chatting on Twitter and on today’s micro-podcast about routines, particularly developing a drawing routine. For me, this last year or so has been about getting my life back into some sort of shape, a shape that I hope is sustainable for a long time to come. Now I feel that it’s time to actually do something, which is a bit of a relief. I’m hoping that my new project, The Last 10 Boxes, with help me with developing more of a work routine (and help me make some space in my studio).

The discussion on Twitter was interesting. Drawing seems to figure large in a lot of people’s lives. @kathy_casey, told me she works on one drawing everyday, while @susanhemann and @skar have no definite routine, but fit drawing in when they can. @lapinbarcelona feels bad if a day goes by without making a drawing (and describes them-self as an addict), whilst @iammarkcameron draw whilst listening to podcasts to relax, and @jhargreaves likes to draw at least once a week. @CuteNosferatu only gets the chance to draw on holidays and @artcow is trying to rebuild a drawing routine whilst looking after her parents. Meanwhile @sgnp works on one stage of a drawing (working in pencil, scanning or working on contrast/brightness in Gimp) in bulk each day. How about you?
