Beany #4 Now Available
It’s been a long time coming, and there have been one or two ups and downs in my life since the last issue, but I’m delighted to announce that the fourth issue of my illustrated journal, The Beany is now available.
I’m very proud of this lovely little book. Unlike the previous three issues, this one is in glorious colour and I’m offering two versions; a softback issue available to buy via Blurb for £9.95 (Blurb ships worldwide) and limited edition hardback version available directly from me for £30.00 (which includes postage to wherever you are in the world) .
You can take a look inside the book over on Blurb.
10% of all sales will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. Here’s why.

[...] Nobbs. It’s so much more than a “zine” or a book with pretty artwork. I recommend you all buy it immediately and also some cake and tea, as it is bound to make you hungry what I’m [...]
oh, my Beany arrived today….I am *so* delighted!
I’m very glad it arrived safely, Sujatin. And delighted you’re delighted.
It’s touching, it’s honest, it’s healing, it’s colourful and it’s a joy to hold and behold, thank you Michael.
The Beany Issue #4 will live proudly on the strictly limited shelf space of The Tree House’s tiny library, to be shared generously with visiting friends and other artists.
I like the finished quality of the hardback. It gives me ideas about writing another book myself.
I love The Beany Issue #4! I am especially touched by your memories of childhood and finding “little bits of joy in the world”. And although this Beany has lovely color illustrations, they haven’t lost any of the charm of the black & white drawings of previous issues. Thank you so much for a touching and heartfelt reminder of how to find those “little bits of joy in the world” . I only wish I could whip up some “Angel Delight” to have while I re-read The Beany #4.
What an inspiration you are Michael! The quality of the hardback is first class. The bits of joy and heartfelt drawings remind us all how important the little things can be in lifting us up if we care to see them. I have started looking for my own already! Wonderful drawings and moving text combine to make an inspiring piece of art. Thank you. I am off to the shops for some Angel Delight!
Received Beany #4 and I really enjoyed it. I have a special talent to make things more difficult then they should be. Like my drawings for instance. Therefore I admire the work of artists with a ‘clear line’. For me the power of your work is the use of a clear line, strong colours and personal story’s. Beany #4 teaches us a universal lesson: the power of simple pleasures. It’s both a consolation and a challenge for our daily life. The quality of this hardback Beany is first class. Like the other Beany’s this is a work of art to enjoy for years.
