Getting on with the everyday to get past a creative slump
I’ve been rather tired over the last couple of weeks. I think it probably something to do with the end of an intensive creative period getting my new issue of The Beany finished. I do have new projects in the pipeline, but have been feeling like I needed a bit of a break before getting something new underway.
So, instead of pushing myself I’ve been enjoying a quiet few days. I’ve been sleeping a lot, tidying, and getting on with the everyday and ordinary, waiting for the tiredness to pass and the return of some creative impetus. I have a pile of parcels full of Beanys to post tomorrow, a very tidy desk, a vacuumed car, soup bubbling on the stove and a couple of boxes full of decluttered bits and bobs ready to take to the charity shop.
Last night I slept for a full twelve hours and suddenly feel like I’m raring to go again.

Idling is the often forgotten part of productivity. Good to see the 12 hours of sleep were of use!
Rest is best
